Materials: American Thread Company "Star" or "Gem" mercerized crochet cotton, sizes 20 or 30. No hook size given, but I imagine anywhere from a 9 to a 12 or 13. Motif measures about 3 1/2 inches.
Ch 6, join to form a ring.
1st rnd: Ch 1, 16sc in ring, join.
2nd rnd:Ch 6, skip 1 sc, dc in next sc, * ch 3, skip 1 sc, dc in next sc, repeat from * 5 times, ch 3, join in the 3rd st of ch 6.
3rd rnd:Ch 1, 3 sc in loop, ch 3, 3 sc in same loop, * 3 sc in next loop, ch 3, 3 sc in same loop, repeat from * all around. Join.
5th rnd: Ch 4, 1 dc in same space, * ch 7, 2 dc over dc of 2nd row, repeat from * al around. Join.
5th rnd: Ch 5, sc in loop, ch 5, sc between 2 dc, repeat all around, join.
6th rnd:Sl st to the 3rd ch, ch 6, sc in next loop, ch 6, sc in next loop, repeat all around, join.
7th rnd:Sl st to the center of ch, ch 7, sc in next loop, ch 7, sc in next loop,repeat all around, join.
8th rnd:Sl st to center of ch, ch 8, sc in next loop, ch 8, sc in next looop, repeat all around.
9th rnd:Sl st to the 2nd st, ch 5, sc in same loop, * ch 5, sc in next loop, ch 5, sc in same loop, repeat fom * all around, join.
10th rnd, 11th and 12th rnds: ...are the same as the 6th, 7th and 8th rnds.
13th rnd:Sl st to center ch, ch 5, sc in next loop, ch 5, sc in next loop, repeat all around, join.
14th rnd:Ch 1, 3 sc in next loop, ch 3, 3 sc in same loop, * 3 sc in next loop, ch 3, 3 sc in same loop, repeat from * al around, join.
